Name: Ariadne (pronounced air-ee-ADD-nee) Gender: Female Age: 3 Years Breed:: Gray Wolf x Siberian Husky Pack: Loner. Rank: N/A Mate: N/A Offspring: N/A
Appearance: Ariadne is small for a wolf and large for a dog. She is long and lean, though muscular, used to spending hours on end pulling a sled. Her coat is a mix from gray to black with white on her belly, legs, face, and the tip of her tail. Her fur is fluffy and thick to resist subzero temperatures. Her eyes are a shade of gray so dark they look black without direct sunlight. Those eyes always seemed narrowed, accompanying a slight frown. Everything about her seems thin, her physique, her eyes, her muzzle. She might have a pretty smile, but she never displays it. Personality: In a nutshell, Ariadne is not a happy camper. She's pessimistic, cynical, depressed. She has walls up. She always expects to be betrayed, or for things to go wrong. She tends to trust dogs more than wolves and will befriend them more easily, though she rarely befriends anyone at all. She hates staying in one place for too long and is constantly traveling.
History: Ariadne's mother was a sled dog; Her father was a rogue wolf whom she never met. From birth she was raised with humans and trained as a sled dog. At a young age she met a lone male wolf just as her mother had. he would visit her in the night while she was tied by her doghouse outside, always trying to convince her to leave with him. What kept her from running away was one of her sisters, Satsu, who was very loyal to their human masters and refused to leave. Ariadne was torn between her lover and her family. And one day, her affection for her lover won out. He chewed through her collar and they ran away in the dead of night. At first it was like paradise. They talked of starting their own pack together and living happily ever after. They wandered far in search of a place to claim as their own, far enough away from Ariadne's old home that she could never have remembered how to get back.. but no matter where they went, they couldn't find an unclaimed territory to settle down in. Eventually her mate decided that he would simply have to challenge an alpha and take over an existing territory. Ariadne tried to convince him that they could simply join a pack, but he had always had fantasies of being alpha of his own land, and would not listen to her. And when he did challenge an alpha, he was killed in the fight. The existing alpha, who was the type who liked to 'collect' pretty females as packmembers, even tried to force Ariadne to join his pack after killing her mate, but she managed to escape. Afterwards, Ariadne tried to find her way back home to her family, but she couldn't. Now she simply wanders all over, searching for a familiar landscape, trying to get back.
