Scat was a good thing. She sniffed it, not too deeply, but long enough to determine what she had to from it. A paw reached out and barely touched it. It was still moist. In the dry winter air, that could only mean one thing:
Her prey was near by. She knew from the size and shape of the dung that it was a rabbit's trail she was following. If her luck served her right, it wouldn't be out and about. It would be in its den, snuggled warm from winter. A salmon flesh colored tongue flicked out in anticipation of a long awaited meal. As a wolf, she could go several days without food, but that didn't mean she wasn't hungry.
Oh no, she was very, very hungry.
She began to stalk, posture all business. She stalked alone for moments, each crackle in the forest her signal to turn or stand still.
Finally, she came upon her prize. Patience and skill rewarded, she found her rabbit. Pity was that the darned thing wasn't asleep or in a den or even normal sized. The great big monster looked like on of those giant pets she had seen during her days as a sheep nipper.
A frustrated growl resonated through her; her first mistake.
The feral critter's ears perked towards her before it took off in a dash. Nysa snarled before taking off after it. She was angry at herself. This was an unneeded effort. If only she had been silent, she probably could have killed it in a few seconds. No, she couldn't hold her own tongue.
Now she was trying to catch her dinner on an empty stomach.
"You worthless little--!"

"Trees! ----ing trees!" Glimmer snarled as she crashed through the forest. Underbrush was scarce and the trees were young and slim, but every few feet a thorny bush lay in wait. This forest was not anything especially terrible by most standards, but to Glimmer, who had been traveling through endless forest for weeks, it was a nightmare. She soon saw another wolf and lightened her step. She was sniffing a piece of dung, which made Glimmer smirk. It shouldn't be funny, 'a perfectly normal way of tracking prey,' she thought. Yet she hadn't seen anything remotely humorous in so long the her senses must be... sensitive. "Yes, that explains it..." she muttered, hoping for the other to hear her. Save her the daunting task of forming a greeting. She wasn't one for being social. But the wolfess seemed involved with her task and soon was dashing after a rabbit. Glimmer took this time to sit and formulate a plan. She couldn't tell her that her name was Glimmer, of course. What a ridiculous name! The things humans, especially young ones, name their pets! She snickered at the memory of when she had left her home. Well, to tell the truth, she had been thrown out. A Christmas present for a toddler named Emily, Glimmer had been vicious from the start, probably from her wolfish, feral blood. Whatever the reason, she had lashed out and bitten the child in the face, leaving a nasty scar. But not before the girl had foolishly dubbed her Glimmer, and being half dog and not all too bright, it had stuck with her out of habit. Avoiding the topic of names all together seemed her best bet. First things first, she would ask about where they were. This place was all new and strange to her, and she had no idea about where to find game or maybe even a pack or two. She needed to try and be civil, at least for the moment, to ensure her best chance of survival. So she waited for the wolfess to finish her chase... (oc: sorry, my muse is not so great right now :P)
