OOC: My character is being a brat, but I thought it'd be interesting to see what happens IC ...
Her steps came down softly against ground that shifted under her weight, and her breath heavy, slowing from her jog to observe her surroundings. The place seemed serene, remote, and very very ... beachy. In seemingly every direction, there was beach or trees with the pallor glow of lazy turquoise waters.
She had quietly observed other areas marked by seemingly single wolves, and thought she'd try out herself on the land-grabbing. She wasn't sure if these parts were actually claimed or not, and though she had smelled faint traces of border markings in some places, she found other places devoid of such scent markings. Admittedly, she had not looked very hard. With all the large expanses of beach and fewer wooded areas, it might be hard for one to thrive here - unless they were keen on sushi. She considered herself a mediocre hunter, but fishing had always been difficult for her to grasp.
Taking in one long breath of salty air, she softly sang her own song. "This land is my home.", she echoed her voice high above the trees.

Birds called raucously from the treetops, fluttering feathers over the nose of a silver wolf. He walked the trails lazily, remarking his borders again. Today he was late, a hunting session had gone on with his pack members, and the reek of blood still stained his maw. His eyes flashed with certainty, and his paws landed lightly on the wet grass, and small bundles of snow fell to the ground in sighing motions. The males nose lifted, and he breathed in the scents he had been seeking, and he stopped short. The smell of another wolf on his land drew him in. He blinked and looked to find her, standing on his beach. Coming down nearer to where the female stood, her slight cockiness enflamed his heart.
When her voice sang out the words that made him more than angry, he let out a harsh snarl. "Excuse me, madam. But this is not your home. In fact, it's mine," he then moved down to the beach to stand tail-lengths away from her, his eyes cold and his posture all alpha. This was Salizar, Divisia's leader. He was magnificent. His fur was dark grey, but because of the winter weather his pelt had changed to a silvery white. Although during the warmer season he was brown and grey, magnificent. Golden eyes flashed in the light, and the gentle rock of the waves soothed the minds of Salizar, if slightly. She seemed rather full of herself, claiming this land when he had already done so. With a sharp jerk, his head lifted and his voice carried out, a loud howl that was rather elegant. The voices in this howl were of Jasmine and Talid, the two members that followed him.

It was not long at all before an angry snarl ripped through the air. Immediately, her head and ears swiveled in conjunction to see the source of the unwelcome sound. Her dull bronze eyes cut through the air to gaze into a seeming mirror reflection.
The other stood tall and proudly, his tail high in the air, the posture of leadership. Unsure what to do, for now, she let her tail(stub) remain in same posture it held before, high and claiming - if only she had a tail. A stub for a tail would be hair to see beyond her neck and face, so any gestures she tried to make with it would be moot, at best. Not letting this wolf's high air, vivid golden eyes, or dusky grey pelt intimidate her, for the few seconds after his words faded into the sound abyss, she let her gears grind and collected her thoughts, all in a short pause. She decided by it's size and what smell she could gather from where she stood, that the stranger must be a male.
"Is it? How do I know that I was here first? How do I know you're not bluffing? I didn't smell any borders.", she reasoned slyly, beginning to slowly walk an orbit around the male. She tucked her head in to protect her neck just in-case the male was a spitfire who tried to lunge at her immediately.
Not trusting him, for now, she decided she would toy with him and gather what facts she could.

Through the forest trotted a slim, multi-hued brute, his head down, nose to the ground taking in all the scents that he walked by. One that he was following was a very faint scent marker of a territory. Another scent that he was following and had been for sometime, was the smell of flowers on a bright sunny day. This was the place, the place he had been searching for for so long. Taking in a deep breath, Thor felt himself, for once in his life, wanting a voice to let out the howl that was bubbling on his tongue. Instead, he stepped over the faint scent marking, barely entertaining the thought that the Alpha should have taken better care of his land. To let the scent markings go so faint. Sighing, golden yellow orbs followed the faint trail left behind toward a beautiful beach.
Voices echoed from down below, and Thor picked out the scent he was following once more. Happiness and excitement threw Thor over the edge of the forest line and out into sight or the two wolves gathered below. From where he stood, either one could have ruled the land, he honestly didn't care, as long as he found the creature with the heavenly scent that had been driving him mad for so long.
As he neared, he finally caught what was being said and realized that the female seemed to be challenging the male to the right of who claimed the land. This actually caused him to lift his lip in a silent snarl. The scent, no matter how faint, claimed that the male was the one who claimed this land. There should have been no question. Instead, the female seemed apt to claim it for herself. With no voice, and sure that no one would read the sand even if he wrote in it, Thor actually sat down, just on the sand and slowly edged himself down into the sand, laying flat out on his belly, back paws tucked under his belly and tail lightly thumping the ground. There, he waited, watching the two wolves.

Something in Jas told her to follow Salizar back to the beach, though she wasn't sure what. It wasn't until ey actually arrived, that she noticed another female had entered the land. That made two loners in one day, more than they were use to, at least in the past year she had been with the Divisia pack. As she stayed hidden, she couldn't help but shake with fear and rage. Then, hearing Salizar howl for him, she quickly entered the scene.
Now, this female loner was an interesting character. She stood on their beach, claiming their land for her own. As she stood there, she was unable to keep the growl from her muzzle as he spoke to the female. "You should hold your tongue," Jas growled, fur rising and standing on end. "Salizar has ruled this land for more than a year . . . On the other hand, I have never seen you around this land. Nor have I ever smelt your scent before," |

After he spoke, it seemed she was still holding a claiming position. He stood his ground, his stance still of alpha. There was no way he was about to let up his land to a female who did not like him, nor trust him. And her lying of the scent of borders stirred his heart. As she challenged his right to be here, he let out a bark of defiance. "You are a feeble female. Your nose must be broken if you have not smelt my scent. And you must be lying, for I can smell my scent on you. You rubbed your fur across the bush behind you, where I had passed yesterday. Get out of here, before I make you," he knew by looking at her she was a female who enjoyed taunting and toying with other wolves, and he wasn't about to tolerate it. He smelt the presence of another wolf, be he wasn't worried, the wolf wasn't threatening, and who he was more intent on was this female. Angry emotions waved off him, and as he heard the pawsteps of Jasmine arrive, he knew he found fend her off. Yes, he needed to patrol more often, but when he was busy, he just couldn't. He bared his teeth as she walked around him, and he snarled in a warning. This land was his, and had been for over a year. Just because she was so stupid to not notice the markings, doesn't mean this land wasn't his. Salizar heard his adopted daughter speak, and her voice sounded defending. Her attitude was perfect, and for that he would praise her afterwards.

As another wolf seemed to roll in, the tides that she thought were even, were quickly turned. The new wolf, however, rolled over on his back playfully, exposing his underbelly and gentals for all the world to see. A harmless gesture, but she decided this one was either a guest or a passive member of this man's plausable pack.
Before she had the chance to speak, another arrived, female, guessing by it's voice and size. Her voice was irritating, agitating her down to her very bones with every ounce of disrespect that she picked out of her words and tone. A bristle in return was all she could manage, as it was still not her turn to speak. Once again the leader male spoke.
Adding insult upon injury, his words again were supremely unkind. Outnumbered, and with two snarling wolves pointing their bloodthirsty fangs and furrowed eyebrows of rage, there was nothing more to do here. She had been wrong, there was indeed a pack here, and it would be better to simply call it quits before any real damage could be done here.
"Feeble?", was all she said, raising an eyebrow at the male. She slowly planted all four paws on the ground and tossed her fur from right to left, physically and mentally shaking off her pent up anxiety from the unpleasantries. "You are no friends of mine.", she thought to herself, as she turned and began a moderately-paced and steady jog away and out of the area, ducking her head along the way, trying to maintain what was left of her dignity in these parts.

The female made one last attempt to speak her case, but all she could come out with was Feeble?. It was laughable, as Jasmine watched the bitch walk away, defeated. Quickly, she trotted a little forward, being sure that the female left. As she saw the female out, she stopped and lifted herself to her full height, nodding her muzzle once and grunting as she turned back to Salizar.
There was pure happiness on her muzzle, that was there as she gazed upon Salizar. "Once more you lay claim to your land . . . It seems even now children wish to steal this beautiful land from you," she said, her voice soft and loving. At least until she noticed the other male. Now, as she had approached Salizar, the brute hadn't registered in her mind, but now. Now he was there, front and center.
At the sight of the lone male, Jas tucked her bushy plume between her back legs, yelped, and ran to hide behind Salizar. From behind the massive wolf, she could be heard both growling and whimpering, all the while, her icy blue orbs were squeezed shut and her head was down.

Watching the exchange between the wolves of this land was both comical and enlighting. It let him know that the large male was truly the Alpha Male and that the whinny bitch was nothing more than a loner, like himself. However, as he was laying there, scratching his back on the sand, he was hypnotized for the red and white she wolf that came trotting up as the male howled. A pack member?
Yet, as he rolled back to his belly, Thor caught the slight breeze that waft toward him, rolling from the other wolves. With it came the the scents of the Alpha, the lone female . . . and a beautiful flower that made his blood sing. HER! He was on his paws in a moment flat, yet as he moved, the red and white female saw him and . . . ran.
It was amazing at how fast she was. One moment she was talking, her voice so lovely, to the Alpha Male about children and the next, she was yelping and cowering behind the male. It broke his heart to see such a breath taking creature whimpering and cowering at the sight of him. It caused him to turn his muzzle away, hiding the scar that he thought she was hiding from. He lowered his muzzle and his head, bowing to the pair, hoping to show that he meant no harm.
