Alina's black bushy fur bounced with her body as her small paws landed on the ground. Her ice blue eyes flickered around the island surroundings. It wasn't long since she got moved here. Humans let her go in this area a little over three weeks ago. Her travels from runaway in the mainland she live on has been long, and now exploring the place she is now wasn't in her interest at this time. She was tired and sick of being on the move. She did want to settle down some where. She walked on though, looking for a spot to settle in at, with the sound of the rushing water near by. To her, the sound was calming. Probably why she didn't leave here yet. Her stomach was full enough to hold her, though she wished she had gotten something better than the little rabbit she had earlier. She found a thick pine tree the the branches went to the ground. She crawled under, squeezing her self under the tallest part of the branches. She sighed, and began to dig at the dirt below her to create a bigger space to settle herself into. She laid her head on her paws as she began to think quietly in her head, seeing the blinding snow outside the tree.

Orestes moved with smooth, elegant strides, his head swaying side to side as he mumbled a tune his mother used to. She'd stopped singing when his father died, but he still remembered the song and how much it had calmed him. It served the same purpose now; the bubbling water made him a bit anxious and worried that someone would sneak up on him. But he kept his limbs moving and his song alive, and he convinced himself that everything would be okay. The soft crunching of snow between the wolfdog's paws was welcome and delightful, simply because Orestes had always loved the winter. Smiling delicately, the wolf froze when a flash of movement caught his eye. Ears perked forward, he dipped his head so his blue-grey eyes could see his target more clearly.
A little mouse hopped upon the surface of the snow, having no troubles traversing the frozen world. His small paws and weight ensured he wouldn't sink in the white powder, making him blissfully unaware of the world around him. Orestes licked his lips, lowering his body and preparing to pounce. He edged forward, taking slow steps and raising his tail to help him balance. Taking a deep breath, the wolf sprang forward and landed with his paws on the mouse. His maw shot downwards, and he swallowed up the mouse in one bite. Licking his lips, Orestes wagged his tail for a moment with delight.
The sound of another set of feet, surely the four paws of another wolf, made Orestes pause in his celebration. The steps were light and dainty, perhaps feminine. Picking up a swift trot, the brute headed towards the sound. Ears perked forward, he spotted a lithe black form moving from the snow. Yes, it was distinctly feminine, so the wolf slowed his pace and raised his tail. He paused when he could see the wolfess, watching her as she dug a hole at the base of a tree to rest in.
"Hello." he called, his voice cheery and polite.
