Rust smiled weakly at the other wolves; it seemed they had accepted him into the pack. This morning he had awoken a heartbroken wanderer but now, he was still just as heartbroken, if not more so, but he suddenly had a home. No, not a home, but a place to live. It wouldn't be a home for a very long time, not until his scent was on the trees and in the air and his loyalties were consumed and tied neatly to the ground. Now they fluttered freely, tied only to the notion that Cassandra and Roslyn and Wyren and Valentine were pack. Only pack for now; Roslyn and Wyren held some authority and weight as they drifted through his mind, while Cassandra flashed as a potential friend and Valentine as someone to keep an eye on. His eyes glazed over for the briefest of moments; suddenly the brute didn't care for anything. Now that these wolves were pack and not threat in his mind, he could relax and not worry. He could rest knowing that these other wolves wouldn't tear him to bits. Or he could hope that they wouldn't; he hadn't gotten a straight answer, and the issue only seemed to dance through the air on light and airy and indecisive words.
He shook those thoughts from his mind as Cassandra spoke, and her loveliness made his heart ache. Another glance at Roslyn evoked the same feeling, if not a little weaker because he knew she was "taken." Or was she, he thought, with the lack of affection between her and the alpha male. There had been a time when he had been dragged into his relationship with his mate because they suddenly found themselves expecting, but soon that obligation and annoyance had turned to genuine feeling. The thought made his heart flutter, and he wondered if anything so terrible and romantic had brought these two together. Perhaps so, perhaps not; maybe they had just both claimed the territory, and found no fault or conflict between their leaderships. His eyes danced between the pair as he thought this silly thoughts, and he suddenly decided it was none of his business. He was just a low ranking wolf in their pretty little pack, nothing more than a grunt, he thought with a sneer.
"If it's all the same, I'd like to take some time to myself. Today has been... interesting, and I need a while to reflect," he said, feeling quite old and bitter. He didn't want to poison everyone else's mood with his suddenly ill one, so he rose from his seated position, taking his sweet time. He shifted his weight to his forelegs as he dragged himself up and placed his hind legs beneath him. He was careful in his movements, his tail shooting towards the sky so that he could balance. When he was on all fours, he shook and let his tail fall to a forty five degree angle. I live here, his tail said, don't screw with me. He licked his lips, shutting each eye as his pink tongue ventured towards it. "Thank you, alphas Roslyn and Wyren, for allowing me to join your pack. My life is yours." He said, dipping his head to each wolf as he said their name, and then towards Cassandra and Valentine. His smile was tight and thin.
He shook his massive body for an instant, giving the other wolves an unreadable and indifferent glance, before he turned and began to trek away. His tail swayed as he moved, the tip curling up as he lowered his head and became consumed in his motions. His tawny pelt was crisscrossed by the tree branches; he brushed his shoulder against one as he left, sniffing the air and letting the tree's touch comfort him. His amber eyes searched the trees, and he continued his walk until he could no longer be seen by the other wolves. He kept checking over his shoulder, utterly paranoid that they'd see him. He found his destination; a tree that had been ripped at by someone else's claws, creating a small place to sleep. He stuck his nose inside and took a deep breath, and he was content to smell that the place had been abandoned for quite some time and it was warm. He backed his great bulk into it, but the front half of his body wouldn't fit. He let out a grunt, his mood even worse. He let his muzzle sink to his paws, and he stared casually at the sky. While his body was quite relaxed, his mind was loud and moving a mile a minute.

Cassandra's face was still split into a toothy grin when Rust spoke. His voice had such an air of despondency to it that her smile faltered. The tiny female turned her head to look at him, eyes wide with interest. "If it's all the same, I'd like to take some time to myself. Today has been... interesting, and I need a while to reflect," He stood up. "Thank you, alphas Roslyn and Wyren, for allowing me to join your pack. My life is yours." His tone was one of thinly veiled sadness, and Cassie was intrigued. She watched him turn and walk away, and even his movements betrayed a sense of cheerlessness. She kept her large eyes on him until he disappeared beyond the trees, before she turned her attention back to the others. "I don't mean to be rude," she said, her tail wagging to show her good will, "But I think I'll be going as well." She smiled and bowed her head at each wolf in turn, taking a step backwards. "Thank you so much for allowing me to join your pack. I look forward to living and hunting with all of you." And with one last smile, she turned and set off in the same direction as the big, melancholy male.

As both Rust and Cassandra began to exit, after expressing their gratitude for Roslyn and himself allowing them to join the Zenica pack, Wyren turned his gaze on the thin, white brute, almost expecting him to leave as well, yet nothing seemed to be flashing in the wolf's mind about turning and walking off to think. Instead, he was just there, seemingly distant, but still interested in joining none the less.
Huffing at his annoyance, Wyren slowly unwound his tail from his paws and rose to his full height. "Shall we patrol the boarders together, Roslyn?" he questioned the Alpha Female. They didn't normally walk together, but every once in awhile, it was nice to just walk and talk. Out of politeness, Wyren dipped his head to Valentine. "You are welcome to come along . . . Or do as you wish, within reason, among your new home," |

Valentine noticed the guarded, and slightly eerie presence of the black male, and he bowed his head politely as the two other wolves, Rust and Cassandra left to their own devices. Because of this he looked to the two black wolves. When Wyren asked if he wanted to join them on a border patrol, he nodded. "Yes, that would be fine. I don't think there is anything else I would do. Thank you, Wyren," he then lifted himself onto his paws and moved a few pawsteps closer, noticing that he should go behind the two, as any lower ranking wolf should do. He didn't want to show anything less than loyal. Before, at the speech of family, he had smiled. There was reason he was staying longer, to learn the ways of pack life. And if it came down to it, he would stay the rest of his life here. When Rust looked at him as someone to watch, he felt almost.. seperate. It seemed not many of these wolves trusted him as much. But that meant he did not trust them the same. There was something about Valentine that made him slightly uneasy. But that was to be accepted as he only just joined, so there was nothing he could do about that, other than get to know them better. His golden gaze was penetrating, and even though he wasn't the best wolf, he was still a great member.

| [atrb=background,http://i711.photobucket.com/albums/ww112/HarlequinAvery/roslyn2.png] Roslyn couldn’t help but frown as first Rust and then Cassandra both announced that they would be taking their leave. She watched as both departed, leaving the little group behind. An annoyed snort escaped her as she lifted herself from her seated position and prepared to follow the pair when she thought better of it. They’d been accepted into the pack, and they had the right to wander off and explore the area if that was what they wanted to do. Huffing, she turned her attention back toward the two males who were still milling about in the area.
"Shall we patrol the boarders together, Roslyn?" Roslyn’s ears flicked forward, the Alpha males’ words drawing her attention. Now that right there was a good idea. It’d give Roslyn something to do, for one. And it was fairly obvious that the boarders needed to be remarked. “Sounds like a plan.” Roslyn flashed a grin, her eyes flashing toward the ivory male as Wyren spoke to him, inviting him to come along. "You are welcome to come along . . . Or do as you wish, within reason, among your new home." Icy eyes peered expectantly at the ivory male as she awaited an answer. She still wasn’t quite sure what to think of this one and spending a bit more time in his presence would help her figure him out. He didn’t seem so bad, but only time would tell. And that didn’t just apply to the ivory male. That went for the other two that had left earlier. Wyren and Roslyn would know soon enough if allowing these wolves to join was what they should have done.
"Yes, that would be fine. I don't think there is anything else I would do. Thank you, Wyren." Once Valentine had accepted the offer, Roslyn trotted off, heading toward their nearest boarder, simply assuming the boys would follow.
