Doubt crept through Sigourney like a sickness, poisoning her mind and sending chills through her tenuous, ribbon-like limbs. She wasn't really sure anymore about her place in the pack. She had stayed here for a while, and most of the wolves had coddled her many theories of conspiracy like you would to a child. Among most, there was a silent agreement to never take Sigourney seriously, only to try and not let her become too upset. but she recognized this, and all day she was seized by nearly unfounded fears of being cast out.
Nearly unfounded. In many packs, members deemed to have no useful qualities are left behind in hard times. Times weren't particularly hard now, harder maybe then they would be come Spring, but it wasn't a time for luxury either. Sigourney couldn't hunt, due to fits of frightening premonitions. She couldn't pup sit (she scared the children with her nightmarish stories). The only thing keeping her in the pack was pity.
"Lets think this through." She said to herself, hoping, in the recesses of her mind, that someone would come and convince her, beyond the eerie shadows of doubt, to stay.
(ooc: sorry it's so short, it's hard to rp with just you thoughts to reply to D:)

Learning from her previous encounters, a large lillypad leaf served as a large saliva-proof makeshift pouch that she carried in her mouth. No contents ventured outside their carrier and remained hidden safely inside. As much as she didn't like wasting, and the fact that if she did not find trade soon that her herbs would go bad, she disliked the angst between her and Divisia even less.
Hoping to make an ally from Divisia and bury the hatchet that the firespitting female had created, she lurked among the shadows, just outside the border, lingering behind large trees, plump bushes, and crouching into the shadows. Perhaps this kind of sneaking about was the wrong way to create allies, but the last thing that she needed or wanted was another run-in with that female. If she lost her temper with the foolhardy girl, it may be that wolf's last breath, and for herself having killed one of this pack's members, would surely spell out trouble for Anput. So, to the shadows she was confined, feeling blameless as technically she was not intruding but merely tracing the borders outside of the land.
As she peered through two slender trees, she spotted a lone figure. Squinting even more, she determined this wolf was not the same one as before, the one that she feared - and loathed. Stepping out from her cover, she set down her pouch behind the invisible border line, close to her, so her words could come freely and ungarbled.
"You there! Are you hurt?" , she tried to call to the figure, hoping that her assumption was correct. Inside her mind, she crossed her paws and said a silent prayer, hoping that this chance she took would not spell out her last dying breath. She stood tentatively, watching the stranger, hoping it would venture forwards to talk. Her matted mess of a stub for a tail dangled uselessly behind her hindquarters while her golden eyes did the beckoning.

Torn from her reverie, Sigourney crouched down to the ground, afraid. Was it the alpha? Not that he could hear my thoughts, anyway. But the fear poked at the back of her brain nonetheless, like a particularly nagging needle. Her dark eyes shifted side-to-side, pausing briefly on the old scar-riddled she-wolf. She cowered between two trees for a moment, dark belly low in the blue tinted snow.
"Are you hurt?" the she-wolf's question bounced and echoed through the trees. 'Do I look hurt?' thought Sigourney incredulously. She looked down at herself, and saw matted fur. She realized that while thinking, she must have looked at the least deranged, a war going on within herself.
"I will be, if I can't convince myself not to leave this god forsaken pack." She stumbled toward the wolfess and sat down in front of her. "No tail, huh? However do you balance?" She giggled roughly, realizing how odd she sounded, asking this wolf how she balanced when she herself had just tripped over here like a drunken person.
Suddenly, fear hit her like a truck. She had just waltzed over here like she knew this stranger. Her paranoia kicked in, making her scramble backwards to an outcropping of rock. She pushed herself up against the cold stone as if she could melt into it. She prayed silently for someone she knew to come and save her from her own irrational fear like members of the pack so often would.
"Who are you?" Sigourney said in a completely different voice, her spontaneity of the last moment seeming to blow away with the biting winter wind.

As the other gave a sarcastic response to her question, her ears folded back and flattened subconsciously to the rejection in the moment. Not sure what to do, she examined her paws and fidgeted with the snow for a moment, and looked up just in time to see the other speak again, her ears rising to hear whatever the other might have to say.
Her mind wheeled at the side comment about leaving. Should she tell this other about her and Ariadne? Her mind considered the pros and cons. The wrong decision could end badly, very badly. But her thoughts were interrupted. Grinning with the sudden remark, she replied quickly. "Had to relearn how to walk. Didn't realize how much I missed it until it was gone.", she jested back kindly.
Again, her ears whipped back and folded with the change in pace. "Anput.", she said slowly, tasting the name she had made up for herself on her tongue. She chided herself for thinking up such a stupid name, wondering for an instant what her real one was, but stopping herself before she could begin to try to remember. "It's not good to live in fear. It's not happy.", she reasoned slowly to the other.
"Look, just because you are a pack wolf doesn't mean that you have to stay on your territory all the time. Perhaps you'd like to accompany me to a spa? If you like it, you can stay, you don't have to come back. If not, no pressure, do as you please. It's just me and another female, she's always very sad, just us two loners. I bet a new face would cheer her up. " , she proposed, finding more and more reasons, hoping the other might be up for a girls night out.
With this wolf being so frightened, and so unhappy of her stay here at Divisia, Anput could only wonder what was going on here. Salizar seemed nice enough, was perhaps that other female tormenting her? Why was this wolf so afraid?

Sigourney glanced around wearily, her sudden outburst of terror having tired her. The wolfess told her her name, 'Anput', and invited her to join her to a 'spa'. She mentioned another wolf. Sigourney cringed a bit at the idea of being so vulnerable, outnumbered two to one. She bit her cheek and reminded herself that this wolf seemed friendly, and not likely to lead her into trouble.
"I would love to go." the words slipped from her mouth unchecked. She pushed what might be the consequences to the back of her mind and stood up, joints creaking. She between the slender trees she had darted past on her way here, wondering if anyone would follow her. She wasn't actually supposed to wander to the border, and was advised multiple times to stay within the sights of the pack. She knew in the dark recesses of her mind that if she left, it was likely she wouldn't come back. But she didn't have any possessions to speak of, hardly any ties to this pack, so she was ready to leave now.
"So, who is the other wolf you speak of? Will we meet up with her soon?" she pestered, coming closer to Anput. "Oh, and how far away is this spa?" 'Could I even make it there?' she wondered, starting to pace restlessly.
"Anyway, what is your connection with Divisa?" A serious question broke through the more trivial ones. "I just... haven't seen you around here." she added hastily, trying to keep the conversation light. She stopped pacing in front of Anput, waiting anxiously for an answer.

OOC: If you like, go ahead and end the thread with your next reply? I'll start a new thread for you and Ari, if you like?
As the other got up and headed towards her, she slowly stretched her neck and back to the sky for a moment. Soft crackles could be heard as her joints complained. The new companion paced nearby, seemingly anxious to get going. Itching herself to get away from this place, she quickly scooped up the lily pad and it's contents, resting them gingerly with her teeth. Trying her very best to be swift but careful, her concentration was broken as her skin jumped with the sudden onslaught of questions.
With parcel-in-mouth, she turned to lead the way, hoping to maintain only half-a-head's distance from her nose to the other as she turned away and began to trot towards the forest, hoping only to lead the way, but not to dominate. "Murmururururm" |
, she tried to reply, but only muffled words came out. Shooting a hopeless glance towards her companion, she tossed her head towards the female and then towards the direction they were going. Technically, no bad was going on, it wasn't as if she was 'stealing' anything or trespassing on any territory, but things didn't exactly look that way either. Hoping to get a distance between the two of them and Divisia lands, and unable to speak without pausing to put down and pick up her lilypad, she headed forwards, delaying the questions for a few moments, and hoping that the other would follow her brisk pace. After a few minutes, the sandy shores of Divisia were out of sight. "The other wolf is called Ariadne. When I left this morning she was still there there, so she should be there. Our little spa is in the forest, there.", she answered all the questions smoothly, after gently setting down her lilly pad leaf and nodding towards the ever growing expanse of trees ahead. She turned to see if the other was there beside her. "What's your name?", she added, hoping to see the other's face. Picking her greenery back up again, she headed forwards towards the forest. [/blockquote]

ooc: Sounds Great!
ic: Eager to get going Sigourney padded along softly behind Anput. She trusted this new wolf with almost reckless abandon, which was odd for Sigourney. After what seemed like hours of walking, Sigourney heard a strange noise. She glanced around quickly before realizing that Anput was talking.
"What's your name?" she had asked.
"Oh, it's Sigourney. I like it because it reminds me of 'She Journeys.' And I like to go on journeys, you know? That's partially the reason I wanted to leave that pack. I was cooped up like a pup; no one really trusts me, ya see? On account of the... " she paused briefly, then whispered, "schizophrenia. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm babbling." Eager to end that conversation before Anput could comment, she turned away.
She started walking again, wondering where this other wolf Anput had spoken of was. She was ready to meet her, and was feeling oddly outgoing today. Yet despite being giddy with excitement, a nagging fear told her to be wary. She pushed it aside hastily, not wanting to give her new acquaintances a reason to take her back to Divisia. 'I'm not quite ready to go back, I don't think.' she thought rebelliously. 'This is quite nice... Yes, I could get used to this.'
